Pure Color was no accident. He was bred by the Colorado horseman, Forrest Nelson, who has been featured in Western Horseman and the APHA Journal. Forrest was the 2002 APHA President and has spent a lifetime working to produce PURE COLOR.

Forrest was breeding homozygous horses when the rest of us didn't know what the term meant. We know what it means today: You are going to have a color register able foal every time with no solid surprises, no lethal whites and no loss of years of investments in mare care and stallion fees. Instead, you get a great colored foal from proven bloodlines.

PURE COLOR is sired by the great MR TRAMP, an APHA Superior All-Around Champion and Versatility Champion with 343 lifetime points (149 Lifetime Halter Points & 194 Lifetime Performance Points). PURE COLOR's dam is one of the very best producing daughters sired by TRU BRUISER, who has sired 20 offspring with show records.

If one checks with APHA you will find some of the industries top paint horses earning over 3,800 points in halter and performance, being shown by open, amateurs and youth exhibitors, all carrying the same gene pool as PURE COLOR. TRU BRUISER and PAINTED TRU TRU were both owned and bred by Forrest Nelson and are the result of his consistent philosophy of producing something better that can perform in and out of the arena. Forrest chose PURE COLOR as the one stallion with the combination of color, conformation and character to represent his years of dedication.

PURE COLOR is siring predominately Buckskins, Palominos, Blacks and Bay. His foals are very versatile, excelling in the show arena, on working ranches, in trail and as youth horses. All offspring seem to carry his beautiful head and neck, strong top line that carries into a deep hip, well muscled shoulders and correct legs. But, the one outstanding trait they all seem to get is his large brown eye that speaks of his wonderful disposition.
